Yeah, I know you shouldn’t spend money on things you don’t need. But sometimes there are little nifty things that improve your quality of life so damn much that you wonder why you didn’t buy them before. And these things are cheap! You can grab them on eBay or Amazon for a few dollars (more if you want them fast).
“Velcro” cable ties
I hate having cables everywhere, but cable ties seem too permanent for me to commit to. I was using hair ties and rubber bands, but the cables end up butterflying out into a mess of loops. These velcro cable ties are much like the velcro straps you have on laptop cables, and they do the job neatly! Combine these with some cable clips and messy cables will be a thing of the past. I use them under my computer, with my headphones, in the car for my phone charger and aux cables, for my hair dryer, even for the other cable from my laptop that didn’t come with a velcro tie!
Note: Since velcro is a trademarked term, often these are called hook and loop cable ties.
Hair tie bracelet
I like to have a hair tie on hand in case I need to exercise or if my hair just gets too darn annoying throughout the day. The problem is that the tie tends to constrict my hand and give me a weird feeling wrist afterwards, plus it looks pretty tacky. Enter this clever hair tie bracelet, which both holds your hair tie away from your wrist and looks stylish, almost like you’re not struggling to adult properly.
If you wear a lot of sleeveless blouses for work and you don’t have space in your wardrobe for them all to have their own hangers, this tie holder is great – loop both sleeves of each blouse onto its own rung, and you can fit 10 in the same space!
